Thank You Note

Message From the President

Xiusheng Yang

Dear CAU alumni in North America:

There are hundreds of us in North America who spent several years of our best time in Beijing, on either the East or the West Campus of the China Agricultural University (CAU), pursuing the dreams of our careers. Many of us have bidden farewell to student life and become professionals - agronomists, scientists, engineers, professors, administrators, and businessmen; some still in the final stage of formal education. Yet there is one thing in common among us – we all are CAU alumni and we all call CAU our “mother school”.

The China Agricultural University American Alumni Association (CAUAAA) was established in late 2004 in response to the calls for centennial celebration of CAU. Although very young,

CAUAAA has quickly become a platform of communication and cooperation for our alumni in North America, and has made some splashes in helping our mother school in meaningful ways. In particular, CAUAAA has established a scholarship to support CAU students with financial difficulties to complete their college education as a gift to our mother school during her centennial celebration. Up to date, over $7,000 has been raised for the purpose, and the first patch of help was delivered to 10 students in January 2006.

As CAU alumni, we feel the need to join together for our career and/or family development in North America, and the obligation to help CAU to grow into an even greater university. As your President, I hereby formally call for your participations and actions:

  1. Join CAUAAA (email Xuedong Tian at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and sign up at the CAUAAA website, www.caualumni.net).
  2. Make contacts with known CAU alumni in North America and ask them to join CAUAAA.
  3. Establish local chapters for various social activities.
  4. Make a donation to the CAUAAA Scholarship (make your check payable to “CAU America Alumni Association” and send it to Xuedong Tian at 17 Middlesex Avenue, Edison, NJ 08820).

Dear friends, welcome! Welcome to CAUAAA!

Xiusheng (Harrison) Yang

President
